A Day in the Life of...

NEW STUFF!
Time for some big thank you's... It has been a whirlwind of a month; extremes of highs & lows, to say the least. My dad passed away recently. Many of you knew him. He loved dancing. I got lots of my good rhythm & styling from he & my mom Lol. Thank you all, for all the grace. I feel grateful to have such a supportive & loving dance family. I came back from Florida just in time for the September 7th International Rally (Flashmob) WCS performances at the Del Amo Fashion Mall, & at our 1st Saturday Event. Bravo to all the performers! It was a great turn out at the mall; we had about 33 couples, plus one extra follower who got to perform in the 2nd round. Many people joined us for the social dancing, & there was a big audience around watching. Fun memories indeed. Stay tuned for the video we are editing. And more thanks to all who came to my bday potluck dance at WC Elks. Another great night.

1st SATURDAY WORKSHOP & DANCE EVENT
TOMORROW, OCTOBER 5th! FINALLY MINDIA'S REAL BDAY CELEBRATION... two cake options as usual.
How old am I????? Same as last year. Forever 21. Duh.
GUEST APPEARANCE! My fun loving brother, Russell Axelrod, is flying in from Florida tomorrow. Come join us on Saturday.
Last month, we had a fantastic performance of the International Rally (Flashmob) WCS routine, on September 7th! Bravo to over twenty couples! We had originally planned my bday party for that night, but postponed it. Not everybody got the update. We had 206 people WOW! Almost beat Phil's bday record of 220 Lol. And many regulars were missing (see Call You Out below). Maybe Phil fudged the head count on Sept. 7th, so it would be less haha. We also had 62 people in the WCS workshop. What a full day & night of dance community festivities.
Join us for our fun, monthly event. Usually 150 to 200 dancers come out to share their passion. COUNTRY 2-STEP, NIGHTCLUB 2-STEP, & WEST COAST SWING WORKSHOPS (must be at least Intermediate level), followed by SOCIAL DANCING! Private lessons may be available. See link above (1st Saturday Monthly Event) for details. Ages 18 & up.
***VENUE UPDATES***
Management has requested some changes. We will be using only the back door entrance after 6pm, so try & park in the bigger back lot. We do hire our own security guard every month from 9pm to 1am. So they keep an eye on things. Gives us peace of mind.
Also we want to have an alcohol/drug free event. We always have safety as a priority.

We have started a brand new routine; so excited! Please let us know if interested in joining. This is an ideal time to begin. Phil & I are inspired with some choreography ideas from our chosen song. CALL YOU OUT!
Here is where we get to pick on our readers, instead of each other! At our last 1st Saturday Event on September 7th, we had 206 people. Phil's bday record (for South Bay Dance Center) has been 220. And Phil may have "miscalculated" the numbers last month ha. We will never know. But I do know that the following regulars were missing from the dance, so I am calling them out Lol! With these 20 people, we would have had a new record. Eni & Alan, Helen & Terry, Devin & Morgana, Lou & Monyean, Nathalie, Tanin, Robin, Nancy, Don, Gilma, Jane, Lynne, Marc, Tammy, Sherry, & Dustin. I still love u all.

FB GROUP UPDATE WOO HOO! SOUTH BAY INTERNATIONAL RALLY WEST COAST SWING HAS BEEN BORN.
After our 4th year of teaching & organizing performances for the International Rally (Flashmob) WCS, Phil & I created a new FB group for all of our posts. (With help from Justin. Thanks!) Please join the group for class & performance info etc. Please also help us spread the word about the new group.

Private lessons may be available with Phil or myself. You will have fun, & learn stuff too! Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, & Saturdays. Various venues. Let us know if interested. Privates may also be split between 2 to 4 people (maybe more). Ask for the $5 discount per DVD when you schedule.

We have two DVDs available, Beginner & Intermediate WCS. You can purchase them with a credit card in person (cash or check is fine also), or through our web store! More info about payment & options under Highlights.
PUNCH CARDS
We have punch cards available for purchase: ten classes for $100 w/ the eleventh class FREE! Punch cards do not expire. We do take credit cards in person or through our web-store.

*DANCE DVD'S!: Payment & Options: Dance DVSs are $35 each (plus tax if credit card payment). Credit card payments are available in person, (or cash or check in person is fine also), or through our web store. If order your DVDs through our website, you have the option to click the "pick up at class" option (to avoid shipping charges), or you can have them shipped.

* All of our classes are drop-in (some do run in a series). No partner needed for any of our classes. No prior dance experience needed for Beginner classes. Two left feet are welcomed; we will introduce you to your right foot! (Phil wanted credit for that last comment.)
* Once you have moved up from our Beginner level classes to Intermediate and then later Advanced, you are welcome to continue taking our Beginner classes for FREE! We want to encourage you to continue working on your basics; that is most important to develop a strong foundation. The best dancers usually are the ones who have worked on their basics for years. When you keep taking Beginner classes, you are also helping the new students to progress faster, since they get to rotate & dance with more experienced dancers.
