NEW STUFF!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
What happened to January? Lol! The question is: How long do you keep saying, "Happy New Year" to people? Until after January? Until you see the person for the first time that year? Hmmm... We want to thank everyone for making our New Year's Party a big success; we really appreciate all of the helpers as well (too many to name)! We had close to 150 people! Btw, there was some question about what had happened to the "1" in the giant 2016 balloons. (See great FB pics!). Apparently my brother had some technical issues during the inflation process. Also earlier in the night, my brother asked if he could have a cookie during set-up (probably needed energy for the balloon job). I told him to open the package, but didn't think to let Jo & Jean (amazing food helpers) know. Later found out that the two ladies thought we bought an already opened package, & that somebody had stolen a cookie at the store haha! Phil says that I need better communication skills. Really? Must be a joke.
NEW THURSDAY FORMAT
WESTCHESTER ELKS LODGE in Playa Del Rey! AIDEN KEITH-HYNES TEACHING & DJing w/ US!
With the new year, we decided to try a new direction. Aidan has been teaching our Beginner WCS series (drop-ins welcome; no partner needed), & also DJing a set of great music later in the night! Our last two weeks have been our best nights in the last four months. Come check it out; lots of new faces (& old faces). (See details below, or click on link above.)
1st SATURDAY WORKSHOP & SWING DANCE, FEBRUARY 6th, 2016!
OUR DANCE TEAM PERFORMS, & AIDAN KEITH-HYNES WILL DJ a set of great music! SOUTH BAY DANCE CENTER in LOMITA!
This beautiful ballroom is 4,500 square feet with lots of seating! Note schedule & pricing changes. See link above (1st Saturday Monthly Event) for details. Ages 18 & up. BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverages). ALL STAR & CHAMPION DANCERS FREE!
Our Dance Team has been polishing & re-energizing their WCS routine; they have been working hard, & keep getting better & better! We want to congratulate David (on team) & Fran for getting engaged! We will be starting to work on a new routine soon; let us know if you are interested to join the fun!
We would like to mention that a friend & former team member, Joe VanRyckeghem, has been battling cancer. There is a Go Fund Me to raise money. Also Deborah Beach is selling t-shirts the next few weeks to raise money for him. Please come out & support! We will be dedicating our team performance this Saturday to Joe.

FARMER PHIL WHO CAME DOWN THE HILL, FAIRY JASMINDIA, & SURPRISE VISITOR JASPER!
So we have been getting settled into our new home... very happy about our new digs! We have been enjoying our organic garden, & decorating with curtain, picture, & accessory projects! And now we have a new friend... Jasper, the neighborhood cat! One day as we were moving stuff in, we had the front door & screen open. All of a sudden an orange, plump cat pranced into the house. It was as if he had been there many times before. Since then, he has been coming to "hang out" ("hang in") with us a few times a week. We found out that he is the famous cat that everybody loves in the area. We feel flattered that he must like our vibe! He likes hanging out in our garden a lot. Recently we went to a Nature Center in Long Beach on our day off. We saw a cat that looked like Jasper; it was an Orange Tabby Cat. I looked at Phil & said that is was a Tabatha Cat! He argued; I insisted that Tabby was short for Tabatha. I tried to bet him lunch, but he wouldn't. I did look it up... couldn't find any evidence to support my theory. But Phil treated for Thai lunch. I rest my case.

We have punch cards available for purchase: ten classes for $100 w/ the eleventh class FREE! You can use the card for my classes or Phil's classes. Punch cards do not expire. We do take credit cards in person or through our web-store.

GUEST INSTRUCTORS CHRISTIAN COUNTRY ROUND-UP DANCE: ALL ARE WELCOME! VALENTINE'S DANCE... wear something red! FREE FOR FIRST TIMERS!
You can usually find us at the Clubhouse in Placentia (formerly the Atomic) on the 3rd Saturday of each month at the CCR Dance. We will teach two Intermediate classes: 6:45 pm NIGHTCLUB 2-STEP & 7:25 pm WEST COAST SWING (Must know your basics; no partner needed). There is usually a theme & treats! (There are also Beginner classes.) Open Dancing is a mix of music. FIRST TIMERS FREE (except on a few special occasions). We are both available for private lessons there, but with limited space & time slots. Please schedule in advance.

COST: $20, or $15 for SoCal Christian Dance Club Members. Membership is only $20 for the entire year.
* All of our classes are drop-in (some do run in a series). No partner needed for any of our classes. No prior dance experience needed for Beginner classes. Two left feet are welcomed; we will introduce you to your right foot! (Phil wanted credit for that last comment.)
* Once you have moved up from our Beginner level classes to Intermediate and then later Advanced, you are welcome to continue taking our Beginner classes for FREE! We want to encourage you to continue working on your basics; that is most important to develop a strong foundation. The best dancers usually are the ones who have worked on their basics for years. When you keep taking Beginner classes, you are also helping the new students to progress faster, since they get to rotate & dance with more experienced dancers.
